About Us

Healthy communities begin with healthy individuals. The mission of Health for Friends is to provide patient-centered health care for better lives and better communities.

Health for Friends began providing free and low-cost health care to the medically needy in Norman in 1985. Over the last 27 years, HFF has expanded from a grassroots organization housed in a former motorcycle garage to a modern, comprehensive healthcare center with a medical clinic, dental clinic, prescription assistance and social work programs. A second clinic, the Health for Friends Women and Children’s Center, will open in November, 2012 at 1124 North Porter, Norman.

Thanks to grants and donations, Health for Friends can continue to provide care to the homeless without charge, as well as very low cost care to those with no health insurance and limited resources. In addition, we can now accept Medicare, Medicaid, and self-pay patients regardless of income. Discounted Medicare co-pays are available based on household income. Discounted fees for both medical and dental care are also available based on household income.  It is also no longer required that patients are Norman residents; there is no residency requirement and we are proud to be serving Norman, Noble, Purcell, Moore, Newcastle, Blanchard and surrounding communities.

Our healthcare providers are licensed, credentialed medical doctors, dentists and physician assistants who are supported by a highly skilled staff of nurses, and medical and dental assistants. We actively network with specialists in Norman and Oklahoma City so when referrals are required, our patients receive the care they need. Our team of health professionals exhausts all resources to help patients become healthy and remain healthy.

Heath for Friends is the only healthcare resource in this community for those with no other resources. HFF relies on community funders and individuals to support its unique programs as it provides a medical home to those who might otherwise go without care.
