By providing the Norman community with access to free and low-cost dental care, Health for Friends is again able to promote better dental health practices and oral health education to our patients. Several new strategies and new partners are in place to help us in the fulfillment of this mission.

Services

Extraction Clinic

By partnering with the OU College of Dentistry and Norman-area dentists, Health for Friends has been able to reopen the weekly extraction clinic. Every Thusday, under the supervision of adjunct faculty, 3rd and 4th year dental students perform these much needed extractions.

Extraction clinic patients are asked for a monetary donation of $25 to help offset the cost of materials, but are treated whether or not they can pay. Many express gratitude because they have otherwise been faced with paying $200 to $300 upfront for an extraction in the dental community. For our patients, this is an impossibility.

General Dental Clinic

Health for Friends has recently hired a part-time dentist in order to provide our patients with adequate general dental care. Every Saturday, Health for Friends is able to provide comprehensive dental care to our patients.
